Eldest of the three boys Shaun and his wife Jaclyn who have two children, our eldest granddaughter Naomi and our eldest grandson Elijah challenged us with the topic of the golden ratio.
The “golden ratio” is a unique mathematical relationship that is easy to spot in the nature. It can be seen in the successive spirals of a seashell, the role of the ocean wave, the tight spiralling shape of a chameleon’s tail, as well as the curled-up fronds of a young fern (“fiddle-heads”). We chose the fern as it is abundant on the property and due to Jaclyn’s love of turquoise when blends beautifully with green
The artwork was painted by a long standing friend Shelly who lives in France. It was quite a feat to courier the paintings into SA during lock down.
